Just as Willowdale is, Thorren Pass is quite glum. Those who left Khoucaea behind for some other life beyond the shore quite commonly pass by here, and assume it is no place to spend their life. All they see is the dull looking kalons, with their equally dull jobs. But it is dull for a good reason, unlike many other places.
Willowdale is a place of many battles, and many times the area of land in which their rebelion was defeated. They had gathered their men several times, and bit and clawed at whatever enemy they had decided upon this time... only to fail, just one more time than the last. This is something any regular person would assume to be the end of their attempts, but oh no. The men, women, and children who live here are as stubborn as a rock within a stream, standing there through floods and droughts over hundreds of years. In fact this was one of the first built places of commune for kalons who traveled across the sea. They were people who had nothing, and built a supporting city from nothing, and nothing alone. The decendents of those kalons are the ones who live there now,
